I'm Smile — a photographer and AIDA 2 certified freediver based in Shenzhen, China. I've travelled to 7 countries and most of China's provinces, and from next year I'm taking it long-term.
I've been doing this a long time. The summer after high school I went to Tibet alone. The month after graduation I hitchhiked the Silk Road from Chongqing to Alashankou on the Kazakhstan border with a friend — a full month of rides, overnight buses and borrowed couches.
These days I shoot what I live: saltwater, islands, mountains, quiet mornings, and the gear that makes those trips possible. Next up: AIDA 3, plus Open Water and Advanced Open Water in Egypt. I speak conversational English and Mandarin, and I write, film and edit everything myself.
Brands hire me for one reason: footage that looks like a real customer's, because it is.
